I know this is long overdue, but I wanted to inform you how I have
remained satisfied beyond the point of sale. Trucking is a very
competitive business and I knew that we would need something beyond
“high service standards” to give us an advantage over the next
company. With that in mind, Servicestar Carriers ahs invested
heavily in technology to give us that competitive edge. Being able
to offer our existing and potential customers immediate, accurate
and up-to-the-minute location of our trucks has given us the edge we
were looking for. When we advise potential shippers that we can
“locate our trucks and their freight at any given time,” that single
statement sells them on us. I have another example of how this
technology has paid for itself. Our policy is to bring our drivers
home at noon on Friday whether they are loaded or not. One Friday
afternoon our dispatch advised the driver to start heading home from
the Youngstown, Ohio area, as we could not find a load for him.
About 45 minutes later, we received a call that a customer had a
“must go” shipment in Cleveland, Ohio that could load immediately
and deliver the next morning on Long Island, just minutes from our
yard. We were able to see that the truck had not left its’ location
as of yet, contact the driver and get that load picked up within a
90 minute timeframe. That ability to change our truck’s direction
alone paid for about six months of service.
Knowing what
I know now, I have to say that our investment has paid for itself
and continues to pay for itself every day we have the WICS
Technology system in our equipment. In fact, I don’t know how we
could afford to be without it. Our experience with WICS Technology
has been excellent from the start. We have received the highest
level of service from the installer; who took the time to insure
that I understood the process; to the ongoing support center that
immediately addresses any issues and continually follows up on our
satisfaction.
