Introducing the NEW Driver Logistics System ( The DLS)

Rugged, Versatile, designed for the active mobile workforce

WICS TECHNOLOGY, Inc. is proud to announce its latest product The Driver Logistics System (DLS). The DLS will be operating over the GSM, GPRS, EDGE integrated digital voice and data wireless communication network that is based on the AT&T cellular carrier national data network. WICS's  Driver Logistics System (DLS), a motor vehicle-based intelligence system designed to improve the productivity of the fleet driver.

     The DLS Main Features:

The Driver Logistics System integrates voice and data communications, hardware and specialized software applications over the GSM/GPRS data network. The system allows users to increase the productivity of their drivers in the field by

  1. Real-Time GPS Vehicle Tracking- WICS Core Function – The Fleet.Net Software is a Microsoft based software which allows the customer to see the exact location of each vehicle on an internet connected computer. This system gives the customer automatic one minute updates of the vehicle’s location and status. The information is also stored which can be played back at a later time and is use for analytical and managerial purposes to make reports and logs. Please see reports for more details.

2.      Voice Communications Voice functions allow the driver to make cellular type hands free calls with voice commands, (call office, call shop, etc.)Voice functions will eliminate the need for the drivers to carry a separate cell phone to communicate with the office or customers.

3.      Data Communications- The DLS can be employed as data modems to form a wireless access point connecting a personal computer to the internet or a proprietary network. In this use the DLS is providing a gateway between the cellular service provider's data network technology and Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) spoken by PCs. Almost all current mobile phone models support the Hayes command set, a standard method of controlling modems. To the PC, the DLS appears like an external modem when connected via USB or Bluetooth (wireless).

  1. Real-Time video Real-Time video is a thing of today. The DLS is capable of streaming real-time video for video conferring, onboard video devises and downloading video for instructions or directions.

  1. Automotive diagnostic Every 30 days some of the vehicle’s key systems like the engine, airbags and anti-locking brakes checked and the system monitors them while you drive. Then you receive an automatic email report. Between email reports you can request a diagnostics test or if there is a malfunction you will be notified.

  1. Messaging With the DLS the driver can receive messages that can include jobs, instructions, directions, emails etc. The driver can also send informative information back to the office.
  1. Real-Time Navigation - Vehicle navigation systems built into many of today’s cars and trucks can help drivers to find their way from point A to point B. But digital route mapping is only as accurate as the location data included in the on-board software used by the integrated Geographic Positioning System (GPS) hardware. Please see our real-time navigation features.

Now WICS working with Google Inc. has found a better way to build navigation systems using wireless access, real-time data collection and on-board displays that include photos, 3-D images and touchpad keyboards. The goal is to give drivers information that can be updated continuously rather than having them rely on DVDs -- which can go out of date quickly and have to be replaced regularly with updated disks.

The unit relies on high-bandwidth wireless access that can be provided using cellular or other wireless networks, and uses Google’s online mapping services -- along with Google Search and Google Earth imagery capabilities. It is real-time and we want to provide photo-realistic imagery instead of [DVD-based] symbolic maps, plus it is searchable. The real-time navigation function display show maps, photos and other images or be used as a touch screen keyboard so drivers can enter starting point and destination data. Also included are buttons to instantly find gas stations, hospitals or other destinations along a route in real-time.
